A large, flowing, profound and mysterious universe
In front of the paintings exhibited on the walls of the Gallery, a strong sensorial attraction forces me to stop, to look intensely and fully observe the symbolic and pictorial itinerary of Brigitta Rossetti, a young painter that unites with an indissoluble bond the inner research of “Existence” the delicate passion for poetry.
“Sudden images took over my mind. Rapid and delicate symbols, chromatic material, intense and frail fragments of figures, almost intangible, solicit my conscience. I return, without realising, to relive impressions that were by this time dormant and intimate emotions of my past assailed me.
A large, flowing, profound and mysterious universe made up of continuously moving contours slowly spreads and seems to take me by surprise, the picturesque surface tends to dilate itself annulling the presence of support material”. Hence, words, gestures, graphic symbols and chromatic spots become a disturbing presence that insinuate within us without ever leaving us.
This is the profound sense of the picturesque poetry of Brigitta Rossetti that by revisiting the different cultures of our past, also demonstrates a great amount of sensibility for the figurative Oriental culture that the artist is able to interpret delicately and with originality.
